Built on a site that served as a slaughterhouse in the early 19th century, Bobby Mackey’s is home to live music and, reportedly, more than a few souls long dead – including Pearl Bryan, whose decapitated corpse was found in nearby Fort Thomas, Kentucky; and Johanna, who allegedly committed suicide after her father had her lover killed The inside bar area with its incredible southern roadhouse feel. ‘You got a skinny kid named Dalton here?’ (That’s for the Patrick Swayze and ‘Roadhouse’ movie fans out there.) Close Don’t say you haven’t been warned. Now, whaddaya havin’? Mechanical bull just adjacent to the stage. Our amazing and gracious host, Wanda, leading the tour in the cash room previous to our investigation. We found this gem of a cologne dispenser in the men’s bathroom. Nothing says ‘let’s dance’ like the smell of Polo and hot urine after a potty break. Shot of the area leading to the attic – where a suicide victim, Johanna, has been seen. She allegedly took her own life after her father had her lover killed. The basement area underneath of the bar. Shot of the hole in the basement area where the blood was said to have been drained during the site’s time as a slaughterhouse. Urban legend also has it that the head of a murder victim, Pearl Bryan, was discarded to the depths below. Apartment area above Bobby Mackey’s and once home to Carl Lawson. Carl was a local favorite and is said to have been obsessed (and literally, possessed) by the malevolent spirits at Bobby Mackey’s.
