The Byrd Theatre

Richmond, VA

The Byrd Theatre is a cinema in the Carytown neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia named after William Byrd II, the founder of the city. The theater opened on December 24, 1928 and is often referred to as “Richmond’s Movie Palace”.

Known for being haunted staff often claim to see the former manager of the Byrd Theatre, Mr. Coulter all over the theatre, especially in his favorite spot the balcony.

There are also claims of a little girl often seen playing in the women’s bathroom.
